EVENT RECAP- CAG BLOGGER FORUM X NFB YARDSALE

Hey lovelies!!
Happy new month guys, I guess it is never too late to wish you all a happy new month.
I really can’t believe August is here already, it was just yesterday we were all wishing each other a happy new year. This year is really moving on a fast track *in Jenifer’s voice*(lol)

Recall in my last post here. In case you didn’t check, pls check it out here. I mentioned that I would be dishing deets about the NFB yardsale.

This post should have been up earlier but I’m still struggling with finding time to blog (8-5 job wahala) and I couldn’t get any pictures from the photographer since I didn’t take any pictures that day.
Let’s get started….

CAG BLOGGERS FORUM
I attended the CAG bloggers forum on 23rd July, 2016 hosted by the pretty, smart and witty Dako Alice, the founder and creative director of coloursandgrey.com. This was the first edition and I’m happy I got a chance to be a part of it.

I got to know about the event through her Instagram account, where she also shared a personal story and the main reason for the forum.

She partnered with some brands like (Zaron cosmetics, La flame etc) that dished out some freebies to all the bloggers in attendance.
The event took place at the Plectrum Hub, Ikeja Lagos and was attended by a lot of bloggers especially female bloggers (Tonyeigbani, Ify, Alex, Tamuntonye, Thonia banks, just a few of the many bloggers in attendance). Few familiar faces and I got to make new friends as well.
The forum was quite educative, from learning about SEO optimizations, various plugins, digital marketing and how to maximise the full potentials of one’s blog.
I’m glad to say it was worthwhile and congratulations to Dako Alice for hosting a successful event.

NFB YARD SALE

The much anticipated Nigerian Fashion bloggers Yard sale took place on the 24th July, 2016 at the Ethnic Heritage center, Ikoyi Lagos. I was so excited to attend the event.
I got to know about the event through Cassie Daves blog where she mentioned a jacket she got from the first edition of the yard sale and she also created awareness about the whole objective of the yard sale. I promised myself that I was going to attend the next edition.

The second edition was hosted to raise funds for Iroto school of catering in Ogun state.  Stylish designer pieces were put up for auction. Basically, the yard sale provided an opportunity for people that have been lusting on outfits from their favourite fashion bloggers, designers etc to be able to buy these clothes at a reasonable price (below 5K).

I decided to volunteer (Well, volunteering is always something I always wanted to try) I finally got to do that and also because I wanted to enjoy the event as an insider and not just a guest. Believe me, it was the best decision ever (big smile).

A lot of bloggers were in attendance like Dee Mako, Akinfaminuthe blackwriter, Desiree Iyama, The black rose, Mide Coker, Ifeoma AmadiCassie Daves, Fiolakemi, the list goes on.

I met a lot of bloggers that day and I finally got to meet Cassie (Hi Cassie).

I was a sales representative for the day and I was in charge of so many fashion bloggers wardrobe, I didn’t really get a chance to network and take pictures for zee blog *lol* ( Yeah, I took my job a little too serious that day *lol*).

I had too much fun with Tonye (@theblackwriter)  and I got to buy a few things (peep my wide sunnies from Dee Mako store). I  also had to discipline myself and there was a little situation with the POS machine (A big sign from God to stop me from emptying my whole account on clothes that I didn’t exactly need).

I know I omitted a whole lot of details and the gist isn’t as juicy as expected and I sincerely apologise for that but I promise to make up for that in my next post.

Were you at the NFB yard sale? How was your shopping experience?

I’m definitely looking forward to the next edition of the NFB yardsale and hopefully I will get a booth to sell my own clothes next time.

Thanks to Kachi for hosting a successful event and everyone that contributed to the success of the event.
